Dual Boot Windows and Linux (Ubuntu)
Hey, is it possible to just dual boot Windows and Ubuntu? I've written what I've attempted so far and it's results on my blog. I currently have only Windows installed on my MacBook Pro.
---
What about MacBook Pro? What do I need to do to get the video working?
If i had one i could say it ;

Thanks for the live cd, but unfortunately, it doesn't work on my 20" imac (256 mb vram, 2x1 gb ram). using the i20 option, I get: Loading file initrd.26...done
but nothing else...:-(.
can you try the new LiveCD ?
--- Ok, I will download the latest image and have a go (it was ubuntu-base-20060301.cdr that didn't work) --- It worked :-) ( 20" imac (256 mb vram, 2x1 gb ram). X windows started as well using gdm to start it. Thanks.
Live work on my macbook pro
I was able to get the live cd to run just fine on my macbook pro. This is very cool. I wasn't able to config ubuntu to see the dhcp server, not sure how. What I would like to do is dual boot from my internal hard drive and try and get vmware running windows from with in ubuntu. I am willing to help test
I am only able to access the live cd thru the built in boot manager using the option key. I installed refit on my internal drive, but it only picks up my hard drive with OSX installed.
Also, Would it be possible to configure a Slax based (Backtrack, to be specific) live CD to run on the mactel with refit?

XF86Config-4
I successfully followed the Triple-boot HOWTO and installed debian. Now I have issues getting X to run. Could somebody please post a working XF86Config-4 file? Thanks.
Boot Camp
any comment on:
The software also helps you set aside hard drive space for the Windows installation, without moving any of your Mac files around. Just drag the intuitive slider to choose the size that's right for you. Boot Camp also helps you remove the Windows partition, should you so desire.

- Macrumors seem to think Apple has added BIOS support in EFI. I am also curious what this all means. [Update] The i386 Ubuntu 5.10 install disk booted just fine, but I couldn't change anything in the partition setup. HW: Mac mini. -tactus
Network on LiveCD
Live CD boot went fine on a 2GB Intel iMac. The distro doesn't seem to include a network tool, and I didn't have much luck using the Terminal and ifconfig. Any thoughts?
